RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO PROPOSING AN
AMENDMENT OF THE CHARTER OF SAID CITY RELATING TO THE SALARY OF
THE MAYOR
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Recitals.
(a) In accordance with the Constitution of the state of
California, the City of San Bernardino, a municipal corporation,
has adopted a Charter.
(b) The Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
Bernardino desire to submit to the electors the Charter Amendment
set forth in this resolution.
SECTION 2. Submittal to Electors.
The following proposed amendment to the Charter of the City
of San Bernardino is submitted to the qualified electors of the
Ci ty of San Bernardino for their approval or rej ection at the
consolidated municipal election to be held on Tuesday, November 8,
1994.
PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT NO.
It is proposed thdt Section 24 of the Charter of the City of
San Bernardino be amended to read as follows:
"Section 24.
Salary of Mayor.
The Office of Mayor shall be a full-time position and the
incumbent shall not engage in any business, professional or
occupational activities which interfere with the -discharge of the
duties of such office. The salary of the Mayor shall be at an
amount equal to that set for Chief of Police pursuant to Section
186 of this Charter.
