Descri Council Notes: 75.0262 Agenda Item No J.q CITY OF SAN BERNA..cDINO - REQUEST FLA COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT The intersection of 27th Street and evaluated by the Traffic Engineering Section, several requests by citizens for a four-way stalled. Stop signs were provided at that time approaches. "H" Street was in response to stop to be in- on the "H" Street This evaluation revealed that "H" Street had a higher traffic count than 27th Street. Warrants for four-way stop signs 'could not be completed, since delay on the minor. street is a factor considered, and the stop signs were on the major street. A recommendation was made to the Traffic Safety Committee that the stop signs be switched from the minor leg ("H" Street), to the higher volume street (27th Street). The Committee agreed with this recommendation, and it was approved at the Council meeting of 1-24-94. Concern has since been expressed by several members of the public over the new stop sign arrangement. These concerns led to a new evaluation. This evaluation found that a four-way stop is warranted. A recommendation to make this intersection a four-way stop was accordingly submitted to the Traffic Safety Committee at their meeting of 7-13-94. The Committee concurred with this recommendation. We recommend that the installation of a four-way stop be approved.
