At the request of the department, appropriate specifications were prepared, published and furnished to area suppliers. Bids were publicly opened and declared on July 12, 1994. The following is a summary of bids received. COMPANY TOTAL BID (INCLUDING TAX) All-Pro Cleaning Co. A & B Janitorial *American Building Maintenance Gibson Brothers Janitorial Advanced Building Maintenance Wurm's Janitorial Service No Bid $3, 907. OO/month $3,200.00/month $3,189.00/month $3, 350. OO/month $4,800.00/month Seventeen (17) vendors supplying this service were solicited. The City received six (6) responses. One response was a No Bid, one did not submit a bid bond, therefore disqualified as a valid response, and four valid bids. The Facilities Management Department did a background and service performance check on the two lowest bidders. The lowest bidder, Gibson Brothers, was found unfavorable by Facilities Management in the reference contact. The second lowest bidder, American Building Maintenance, had reference contact that reflected excellent service performance. . Specifications as bid have been reviewed with Facilities Management and the Purchasing Agent who concur that the bid of American Building Maintenance meets specifications and requirements. It is therefore reco~ended that the bid be accepted for contract, The equipment funding is in the FY 94/95 budget. RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A PURCHASE ORDER TO AMERICAN BUILDING MAINTENANCE FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF CUSTODIAL SERVICE FOR FELDHEYM LIBRARY, TO BE UTILIZED BY THE LIBRARY IN ACCORDANCE WITH BID SPECIFICATION F-95-05. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That American Building Maintenance is the lowest and best responsible bidder for the furnishing and delivery of custodial service for Feldheym Library in accordance with Bid Specification F-95-05 for the total amount of $$38,400 per year; pursuant to this determination, the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized and directed to issue a purchase order for said custodial service for Feldheym Library to said lowest and best responsible bidder; such award shall only be effective upon the issuance of a Purchase Order by the Purchasing Agent; and all other quotations therefor are hereby rejected. SECTION 2. The authorization to execute the above referenced purchase order is rescinded if it is not issued within sixty (60) days of the passage of this resolution.
