REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
A request was received from S. P. Commercial Developments on October 5, 1989, to
vacate a portion of Caroline Street, West of Waterman Avenue and East of Club
Way. The petitioner has deposited the required $200.00, which represents one-
half of the total fee of $400.00. The remaining $200.00 will be due after
the investigative proceedings.
Due to the heavy commercial development in the above mentioned area and the
building of new streets, there are now two sections of street named Caroline
Street. The proposed vacation will eliminate the duplication.
If Authorization to Proceed is granted, all adjoining property owners will be
advised of the proposed vacation as a matter of course in our normal vacation
procedure. Staff, therefore) recommends that the Director of Public Works/City
Engineer and the City Clerk be authorized and directed to proceed with the
proposed vacation of that excess portion of Caroline Street.
