Recommended motion:
That the City Engineer and City Clerk are authorized to proceed with initiating
proceedings for the establishment of an assessment district under the provisions of
Chapter 12.90 of the San Bernardino Municipal Code and that the City Engineer is
directed to prepare an Engineer's Report for the proposed construction of street
improvements along portions of the South side of Baseline Street. East of "F" street.
in the City of San Bernardino.

STAFF REPORT
A petition has been received by this office requesting the formation of an assessment
district for the construction of certain street improvement along portions of the
South side of Baseline Street, East of "F" Street. This petition is the result of
requirement by the City for the Developer to install the necessary improvement or
request the formation of an assessment district for the necessary offsite
improvements. The assessment will include the installation of curb, gutter and
sidewalk and handicap ramp and incidental and administrative costs. The signatures
affixed to the referenced petition have been checked and found to represent the owners
of 100 percent of the area of the property lying within the proposed boundaries of the
district to be assessed for the proposed construction.
Once the district is established, actual construction of the necessary improvements
will be deferred until such a time as other new development occurs in the area.
The developer will be required to up-front the cost of the proceedings for
establishment of the district.
