1. PROPOSED FREEWAY AGREEMENT - ROUTE 30/330, FROM DEL
ROSA AVENUE TO 1.0 MILE NORTH OF HIGHLAND AVENUE - After a
lengthy discussion, the Committee recommended that the
Stubblefields, CALTRANS, Engineering and the City Administra-
tor get together, corne to an agreement that is acceptable to
all, including the City Attorney. If no agreement is reached
by the meeting of October 25, the Committee will deal with
this issue.
2. PROPOSED ORDINANCE RESTRICTING TRUCK TRAFFIC ON
WATERMAN AVENUE - Item continued to October 25.
3. DOWNTOWN PARKING NEEDS Item continued. Ann
Harris, from Main Street, presented her solution to the
parking problem. The construction of two parking structures
on a Super Block from 4th to 5th and "E" to "F" Streets is an
approach that the Parking Place Commission and seven property
owners in this area are in agreement with. Although the Com-
mittee supported the Main Street proposal, there was concern
regarding the financing of such a project. Ms. Harris was
asked to pull all the pieces together in coordination with
all city departments. Paid parking is to be reviewed along
with alternate forms of construction, critical mass needs and
method of payment.
