11-19-84 ---Resolution No. 84-447 adopted authorizing execution
of Program Supplement No. 38.
03-21-88 ---Finding made that modification of these traffic signals
is needed for health and safety reasons.

That the plans and specifications for modernization of traffic signals
on "I" Street, at Rialto Avenue and Second Street, and Del Rosa Avenue
and Date Street, in accordance with Plan No. 7351, be approved; and
the Director of Public Works/City Engineer authorized to advertise for

STAFF REPORT
Plans for the modernization of traffic signals on "I"
Street, and Rialto Avenue and Second Street, and Del Rosa Avenue
and Date Street, have been prepared by a consulting engineering
firm, and the project is ready to be advertised for bids. The
modernization will consist of installing mast arms to provide
additional signal indications, and handicapped ramps. The or-
iginal scope did not include handicapped ramps, but these were
required by Caltrans in order to comply with their current
standards.
Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost:

Program Supplement No. 38 served to obligate the amount
of $61,200 in Federal-Aid Hazard Elimination Safety (HES) Funds
for this project. An amount of $6,800 has been allocated, under
Account No. 242-362-57360, to finance the 10% local agency share.
No additional Federal-Aid HES Funds are available. Supplemental
funds in the amount of $27,500 will, therefore, be needed to
fully finance the total estimated project cost. We recommend
that $27,500 be allocated from the unappropriated reserve in ~
~gal T,ulIJl-'vlLuLluTl Fund (J..2"1").

We also recommend that the plans be approved and authoriza-
tion granted to advertise for bids.
