A RESOLUTION IN MEMORY OF M. F. SHAFER.

WHEREAS, M. F. Shafer has been a resident of the City
of San Bernardino for many years and was well known and respected
in our oommunity, and the father of our beloved colleague, George
E. Shafer, Councilman of the Third Ward of the Oi ty of San Ber-

nardino; and

WHEREAS, throughout his life he earned the reputation
of being an upright trustworthy individual having a high sense of
duty and a sincere interest in the public welfare, and we feel
that his passing is a decided loss to the City and its citizens.
HOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Mayor and
Common Council of the City of San Bernardino, do hereby express
our feeling of pUblic loss as well as a personal regret occasioned:
by the death of M. F. Shafer.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as a memorial to his love
and devotion to his family and to his City, that this Resolution
be spread upon the Minutes and a copy forwarded by the City Clerk
to the members of his family.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly
passed and adopted by the Mayor and Common Council af the City of
San Bernardino a~ a regular meeting thereof held on the 12th day
