'" r 'Y~ 2 A RFSOLU'fION OF THE MAYQRAND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE 3 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING RFSOLUTION NO. 970 ENTITLED "A RFSOLUTION OF '1'Hl!: MAYOR AND COllMON COUNCIL OF 'l'BE CITY OF SAN' 4 i BERNARDINO CLASSIl!'IING THE POSITIONS IN CERTAIN DEPARTMl!m'S, PRO- I TIDING FOR IMPLOYDS, AND FIXING THE COMPENSATIONS FOR 8UOH 6 I POSITIONS AND FOR SUCH l!JIPLOYEES". 6 I BE IT RESOLVED BY THE KAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL THAT: 10 11 12 13 I 14 15 16 17 18 i I, 19 II 20 II 21 ii , I 22 23 24 26 I 26 : 271 I 28[ 291 I , 30 I' 31 I I 321 I 7 SECTION I: The following seotions of Resolution Bo. 8 970 shall be amended to read as follows, to-wit: 9 "SECTIOR '!'WO: ne Polioe Department shall, in addition to the Chief of Polioe, who is hereby designated to be the head of said Polioe Department, and such other polioe offioers as are provided for by Ordinanoe, oonsist of the following offioers and policemen, who shall be olassified as follows, to-wit": One Assistant Chief of Polioe One Lieutenant of polioe Three Desk Sergeants One Sergeant One Relief Sergeant One Patrol 'Sergeant One Plain Clothes Offioer One Polioe Instructor and Speoial Investigator Thirty-four Patrolmen One Polioe Clerk Four Deteotives and an additional deteotive when appointed. "SECTION TWO-B: There is hereby established in the Polioe Department of this City a Deteotive Bureau, to be under the control of a Sergeant of Deteotives, who shall" when appointed "be in the olassified serTiee of the Civil Servioe of the City of San Bernardino and direotly responsible to the Chief of Polioe." .SECTION 'l'WO-B-l: That said Deteoti ve Bureau shall consist of a Sergeant of Deteotives" and four Detectives and an additional Deteotive when appointed. "SECTION '!'WO-C: The following classifioations in the Polioe Department shall be paid as follows: Regular Patrolaen, Relief Patrolmen, Traffio Patrolmen, Speoial Offioers and Plain Clothes Offioers - A salary of .160.00 per month, said salary to be inoreased in the sum of .5.00 per r /r I: " 11i I' I 2 ,I 1 3! 4 I 51 61 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 181 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 month at the end of ,eaoh six months' oontinuous service until a salary of $198.00 is reached, which salary of $198.00 shall thereafter be the salary to be paid said Offioer. Desk Sergeants - A salary of $215.00 per month. Patrol Sergeants - A salary of $215.00 per month. Motorcycle Officers - A salary of $175.00 per month, based on one year's service as a po1ioe offwer, said salary to be inoreased in the sum of $5.00 per month at the end of eaoh six months' oontinuous servioe, until a salary of $210.00 is reaohed, ,Whioh salary shall thereafter be the salary to be paid said Offioer. Traffio Sergeants - A salary of $225.00 per month." Assistant Chief of Polioe - A salary of $250.00 per month. Lieutenant of Polioe - A salary of $235.00 per month. r Deteotives - A salary of $210.00 per month. SECTION II: That Seotion 'l'wo-B-2 is hereby repealed. "SECTION T1!5-B: The employees in oormeotion with the oolleotion and disposal of refuse in the>C'1tyof San Bernardino, for the purpose of oreating the positions and fixing their oom- pensation, shall be olassified as follows: Superinteadent, who shall reoeive a salary of $200.00 per month. SUb-Foreman, who shall reoeiTe a salary of $165.00 per month. Billing Clerk, who shall reoeive a salary of $140.00 per month. Cashier, who shall reoeive a salary of $140.00 per month. Laborers, as required, who shall reoeive a salary 9f 16.00 per eight hour day. That said Super~tendent, Billing Clerk and Cashier, shall eaoh before entering upon the disoharge of their offi~ial duties, in the oolleotion and aooountability of garbage al1d rub- bish 'feas, severally exeoute to said City an offioial bond in the - 2 .. 1 penal sum of $1,000.00." 2 3' 4' 5 6' 7 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 SECTION Tlm-D: That there is hereby established the position of Assistant Seoretary to the Polioe Judge. which posi- tion shall be in the unolassified servioe of the Civil Servioe of the City of San Bernardino. 8 That said Assistant Seoretary shall reoeive a salary "9"'1'S- of .125.00 per month until the 31st day of January. ~, and / .'" thereafter shallreoeive a salary of. .30- per month for 9 suoh salary as may be fixed by the Mayor and Common Counoil. SECTION III: That the salary herein specified for the Assistant Seoretal'J' to the Police Judge and for the Superintend en of the colleotion and disposal of refuge shall take effeot as of the 16th day of September, 1944. and the salary as set out for the remaining provisions of this Resolution amending Resolution No. 970. shall take effect as of September, 22, 1944.
