A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO PROPOSING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
HEREINAFTER DESIGNATED AS THE l59TH ANNEXATION DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO.
WHEREAS, and heretofore, there has been presented to the Mayor and
Common Council of the City of San Bernardino a written petition containing a
description of certain territory which is hereinafter more specifically
described, and said petition requested that said territory be annexed to and
included in the City of San Bernardino in accordance with the provisions of
the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939" as contained in
Government Code, Section 35300, et seq.; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has made a complete investigation and
report in reference thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND
COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE: That a written petition containing a description of
certain uninhabited territory hereinafter more specifically described has been
presented to the Common Council of the City of San Bernardino.
SECTION TWO: That said petition contains a description of certain
uninhabited territory sought to be included in the City of San Bernardino, and
that a petition is signed by the owners of not less than one-fourth of the
assessed value of said territory according to the last preceding equalieed
assessment roll of the County of San Bernardino, in which said County the City
of San Bernardino is situated.
SECTION THREE: That notice is therefore hereby given of the proposed
annexation to the City of San Bernardino of the uninhabited territory
contiguous to the City of San Bernardino, the boundaries of which are
particularly described as follows, to wit:
Those portions of Lots 1 and 2, Block 54, Rancho San Bernardino,
as per plat thereof recorded in Book 7 ~~aps, Page 2, Records
of the County Recorder of San Bernardino County, State of
California, described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the present corporate limits of the
City of San Bernardino, said point being the Northeast

corner of said Lot 2; thence Southerly along the East line
of said Lot 2 and said City limit line to a point that is
860.00 feet North of the Southwest corner of said Lot 1,
said point also being the Northwest corner of that certain
parcel of land conveyed to Isabel Phister Soule by deed
recorded January 7, 1959 in Book 4695, Page 656, Official
Records of said county; thence Easterly along the North
line of said Soule property 375.00 feet to the Northeast
corner thereof; thence Southerly along the East line of
said Soule property, a distance of 514.20 feet to the
intersection with the Northerly line of Highway No. 26 as
delineated on the State of California, Division of Highways
right of way map of Route No. 26, Section 61 A, Sheet I-A;
thence in a Southwesterly direction, a distance of 450.00
feet more or less to the Southeast corner of that certain
parcel of land described in the deed recorded May 28, 1959
in Book 4832, Page 324, Official Records of said county;
said point being on the present corporate limits of the
City of Colton; thence the following bearings and distances
along the Colton City limit line as described in that
certain document recorded October 11, 1960 (document No. 368);
thence South 810 47' 07" West along the Northerly right of
way of said State Highway No. 26, a distance of 522,86 feet
to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the North,
having a radius of 2500 feet; thence Southwesterly along
said curve a distance of 249.64 feet through an angle of
050 43' 17"; thence Northwesterly, a distance of 88.07
feet along a non-tangent curve concave to the Northeast
having a radius of 609.75 feet, through an angle of 080
16' 32"; thence tangent to said curve North 430 25' 36"
West, a distance of 241. 89 feet; thence North 780 05.1 50"
West, a distance of 552.55 feet; thence South 080 59' 57"
West a distance of 112.61 feet to an intersection with a
line that is parallel with and 495 feet North of the South
line of said Lot 2, Block 54; thence South 890 42' 57" West
along said parallel line to the intersection with a line
that is perpendicular to the Northerly right of way line of
said State Highway No. 26 at a point which is distant
South 810 00' 03" East 1364 feet from the West line of
said Lot 2; thence North 80 59' 57" East along said
perpendicular line to a point distant 60.69 feet Southerly
of the North line of the South 660 feet of said Lot 2,
Block 54; thence North 840 58' 35" West, a distance of
51.58 feet; thence North 820 01' 18" West, a distance of
93.38 feet; thence North 280 33' 26" West, a distance of
199.43 feet along the Easterly right of way line of State
Highway No. 43; thence Northwesterly, a distance of 219.33
feet along a tangent curve concave to the Northeast, having
a radius of 600 feet through an angle of 20,0 56' 40"; thence
tangent to said curve North Or 36' 46" West, a distance of
82.34 feet; thence North 820 23' 14" East, a distance of
18.00 feet; thence North 40 41' 23" West, a distance of
235.31 feet; thence North 520 36' 46" West, a distance of
42.43 feet; thence North 110 59' 11" West, a distance of
510.38 feet to the South line of Colton Avenue (also known
as "F" Street) said Colton Avenue delineated on the licensed
Land Surveyor's Map recorded May 28, 1948 in Book 4, Page 12,
Records of Survey's; thence South 860 18' 11" West, a distance
of 69.03 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to
the Northwest having a radius of 2889.93 feet; thence Westerly
along said curve, a distance of 232.70 feet; through an angle
of 40 36' 48"; thence leaving said Colton City Limit North
110 45' 40" East to the intersection of the center line of said

limit line of the City of San Bernardino; thence Easterly
along said center line and said San Bernardino City limit
line to the intersection of that certain parcel of land
described in the deed recorded January 6, 1914, in Book
532 of Deeds, Page 206; thence North 480 40' East, 362.00
feet more or less along said city limit line to the center
line of South "E" Street, 82.50 feet wide; thence Northerly
along the cemoerline of said South "E" Street and said
San Bernardino City limit line to the intersection with the
Westerly prolongation of the Northerly line of that certain
parcel conveyed to the Smith Packing Company by deed
recorded January 24, 1957 in Book 4139, Page 89, Official
Records of said County; thence Easterly along said city
limit line to the point of beginning.

That there are less than twelve qualified electors residing in said
territory and that said territory is uninhabited as defined by said Act, and
that said territory is contiguous with the City of San Bernardino.
That the aforementioned uninhabited territory included in the
proposed annexation shall hereafter be generally known and identified as
Annexation District No. 159.
SECTION FOUR: That upon the completion of said annexation of said
territory, all of the property included in said Annexation District No. 159
shall be taxed equally with the other property within the City of San
Bernardino to pay the bonded indebtedness and any and all general indebtedness
of the City of San Bernardino contracted prior to or existing or outstanding
at the time of the aforesaid proposed annexation of said described property
as provided in said Act.

SECTION SIX: That the San Bernardino Evening Telegram, a newspaper

7 San Bernardino, are hereby designated as the newspapers in which this
8 resolution shall be published by the City Clerk in the manner, form and
9 time prescribed by law.
