AND PAYING THE PRJ;::rcIPAL 6 AND I]"TEREST DUEUPO}T THE HUBBARD WATER BONDS, THE A..'ITIL WATER 7 BONDS, AND THE MUNICIPAL IHPROVEL1ENT BONDS, DURL\TG THE CURRENT 8 FISCAL YEAR. 9 The Mayor and ,Common Council of.the City of San Bernardino 10 do ordain as follows: 11 Section 1. Section. i. There is also her:6by levied for th:e;~'present fiscal year,on all propertjr within the corporate limit.s of the City of San Bernardino, as the said City existed on the 1st day -of .July, 1909, a special property tax of ten and one-half cents upon each one hundred dollars of the assessed valuation of such property as assessed ~y the County Assessor, and returned by the County Audi'tor, an'CI the tax so levied and to be collected shall be and is hereby set apart and appr-opriated for the special purpose of paying the principal and 'interest on the Municipal Improvement Bonds, due and to become due ,'orto ac'Crue during the present f~scal'year. Section 4. .The Taxes hereby levied shall be collected at the same time and in the same manner as State and County Taxes and when collected shall be paid to the Treasurer of the City of San Bernardino. Section 5. The reJ3pective amounts hereinbefore designated as being .the amount of taxes levied on each one hundred dollars of the assessed valufLtion of all property hereinbefore referred to, as assessed by the County Assessor and returned bjr the Count Auditor, are hereby fixed as the respective rates of tax for the present fiscal year for the purposes hereinbefore designated Section 6. The City Clerk is hereby directed to inwediate- ly transmit to the County Auditor a certified copy of this Ordinance, and a statement of the tax hereby levied. Section 7. It is hereby found and declared that this Ordinance is urgently required for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety, that this Ordinance is provided by, and adopted pursuant to the provisions of Section ~--- ------.-...- --- --"'--"-..-.-.--...- 1 ... . . .' I ~ :~~ ; . ..._._.-...._-~ -~...._-,_..._--- , .... ---- 1 130 of the City Charter of the City of san Bernardino, and an 2 Act of the Legislature of the state of California, approved 3 March 27 th, 1895, and referred to in said section of said 4 City Charter by its title, and by the provisions of said act 5 this Ordinance must take effect before the third Monday of 6 September, 1914, in order to levy a valid tax for municipal 7 purposes, and without which ordinance and tax there will' be 8 insufficier)t revenues or funds on hand in the Treasury of said 9 City to defray the expenses of the health department or any 10 other department of said City. 11 The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this 12 Ordinance by a two-thrids vote of the Co :mon Council, and cause 13 the same to be published in the Evening Index,( a newspaper '\1 ~ 14 Jil I;) ... 6 ~ 3 \ 15 g = = ill ~ I 16 ill I ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ,i 17 ~ ; ! 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 published and circulated in the City of San Bernardino hereby designated for that purpose,)by insertions thereof in three consecutive issues of the said Evening Index. I hereby certify that the whole number of members of the Common Council of the City of San Bernardino is five (5), and that the foregoing ordinance was adopted by said Council at ;lId its meeting held on the ~ day of September, 1914, by the following vote, to-wit: Ayes.
