The Board of Trustees of the City of San Bernardino do ordain as
follows:
Section 1. That a franchise be and the same is hereby granted to
Johm L. Campbell and his assigns, to use for the term of 449 years the
public streets, thovoughfares and alleys of the City of San Bernardino
for the purpose of erecting and maintaining poles and all necessary
equipments upon which to string wiree to be used for introduring into
and supplying the City of San Bernardino and its inhabitants with electric
lighting and electric current to be used for power purposes.
Section 2. This frs.nchise is gra.ntod upon the condition that the
.rights to be exercised thereunder shall by undo., the girection of the
Sup4r.rintenjent of Streets or other officers in control thereof, and un-
der such general regulations as the City of San BerYiardinomay have
heretofore or may hereafter prescribe for d.ama gee, and indemnity for
damages and the eredtion of poles and wires for the purposes for which
his franchise is ;-ranted.
Section 3. The Clerk of the Board. of Trustees shall certify to the
passage of, this ordinance and cause the sane to be published three con-
eecutive days in the Daily Sun, a newspaper printed and published in
said pity of San Bernardino, and thereupon and thereafter eaid ordinance
shall take effect and be in force.
