Synopsis of Previous Council Action:
On June 9, 2011, the Personnel Committee recommended this item to be forwarded to the Mayor and
Common Council for adoption.
Recommended Motion:
1. Reclassify one Deputy City Clerk position, Range 3470, $4627 - $5625/month, to the Assistant City
Clerk position, Range 4510, $5649 - $6867/month.
2. Authorize the Finanfe Director to incorporate the changes into the FY 2011-12 budget proposal.

Reorganization of the City Clerk's Office.
Backeround
The Assistant City Clerk position is an authorized position which has been underfilled as a
Deputy City Clerk for the past two years. Due to the City Clerk's anticipated retirement after
nearly 21 years, the Assistant City Clerk's experience and knowledge will be crucial during the
transition period.
The Human Resources Department recommends this reclassification for approval.
Financial Impact:
Reclassification of one Deputy City Clerk position, Range 3470, $4627 - $5625/month, to
Assistant City Clerk, Range 4510, $5649 - $6867/month:

City Clerk's budget.
