On 9-09-88, the Mayor and Common Council authorized the real Property Section to
proceed with the termination of rent relative to 181 S. "G" Street.
On 9-22-88, the tenant, Garden State Paper Co, was given written notice to
terminate the rental, effective December 31, 1988.
On or about the 10th of November, Bob Rios, manager of Garden State Recycling,
contacted this office and requested a 90-day extension on the termination. The
purpose of this request was to allow them more time to relocate to their new
facilities, which is being constructed in the City of Grand Terrace.
The tenant did not receive any assistance from the City of San Bernardino
for locating the new facilities, nor was any such request made by the tenant.
The target date for relocating to the new facilities is March 30, 1989.

09-19-88
The Real Property Section was authorized to terminate the month to
month rental of the premises locate at 181 S. "G" Street with
Garden State Paper Co., effective December 31, 1988.
Recommended motion:
That the Real Property Section be authorized to extend the termination of the
month to month lease of the premises located at 181 S. "G" street, with
Garden state Paper Co., from December 31, 1988 to March 31, 1989.

Garden State Paper has been leasing the premises located at. 181 S. fiG"
the City of San Bernardino since 1980. That lease expired in 1985, and
continued to rent the premises from the City on a month to month basis.

On 09-11-88, the Real Property Section was authorized to terminate the rental of said
premises with a 90 day notice. The lessee was given notice, by the Real Property
Section of the termination, with an effective date of 12-31-88.
The manager of Garden State Paper recently contacted this office, and requested that a
90 day extension be given. Due to the termination of the rental, the lessee needed to
relocate it's operation. They have advised us that a new facility is being built, but
will not be ready for occupancy till sometime in March.
The City has no immediate needs for the rented property, and
recommended that the Real Property Section be authorized to extend
additional 90 days, with an effective termination of March 31, 1989.
