1. ORDINANCE AMENDING MUNICIPAL CODE SUB SECTION B,
SECTION 13.22.070, TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL EXCEPTIONS TO THE
REQUIREMENT THAT DEVELOPMENTS BE REQUIRED TO CONNECT TO THE
CITY SEWER SYSTEM - The Committee recommended approval of the
ordinance with one change on page 2, line 2. The Committee
added "environmental" between the words "normal and review".
The sentence will read "Permits for construction of septic
tanks will be subject to the normal environmental review and
approval process for building permits." This ordinance will
be on the January 3, 1989 Agenda.
2. PROTECTION OF VIEW IN FOOTHILL AREA - Item con-
tinued. The Committee requested that Planning coordinate with
necessary departments to address all the issues involved,
prepare an issue paper and present it to the Committee on
January 19. After review, the Committee will recommend that
it be forwarded to the CAC for inclusion in the General Plan.
3. CEMETERY COMMISSION - Item continued. The Committee
agreed that the Commission should continue to exist but under
different rules. The city Attorney's office will provide an
ordinance allowing for city-wide selection of commissioners
(wouldn't have to be in a particular ward, but appointed and
answering to a particular Councilmember). Meeting times
would be established by the Commission. The ordinance will
be brought back to Committee the second meeting in January.
Additionally, the Committee recommended that the area around
the cemetery that could be used for expansion be identified
as Public Facility to the Planning Department for inclusion
in the General Plan as soon as possible.
Meeting adjourned.
