HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-384 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2010-384 2 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF TWO PROJECT 3 APPLICATIONS FOR FY 2010/11 HIGHWAY SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM 4 (HSIP) FUNDING, CYCLE 4. 5 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLO'VS: 6 7 WHEREAS, the HSIP Program is a reimbursement program that provides funds for 8 safety improvements on any public road, public surface transportation facility, any publicly 9 owned bicycle or pedestrian pathway or trail, or for any traffic calming measures, which 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 eliminate or reduce the number and severity of traffic accidents at locations selected for improvement; WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the total funds available for HSIP Projects for this funding cycle is $50 million; and WHEREAS, the City has identified two candidate projects for the FY 2010/1] HSIP funding cycle; NOW, THEREFORE, THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO DOES HEREBY RESOL VE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 The Director of Public Works or his designated representative is authorized to execute and to submit applications on behalf of the City for the following projects, each of which require a 10 percent local match: Local Match HSIP Funds Total Cost A. 9th Street at Arrowhead Ave: (Traffic Signal Upgrade) $17,170 $154,000 $171,1 70 B. 9th Street at Sierra Way: (Traffic Signal Upgrade) $) 6,88Q $151,700 $168.....58Q Total HSIP Project Funding Breakdown $34,050 $305,700 $339,750 28 1// 2010-384 1 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF TWO PROJECT 2 APPLICATIONS FOR FY 2010/11 HIGHWAY SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM 3 (HSIP) FUNDING, CYCLE 4. 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 III III 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 SECTION 2 The Director of Public Works or his designated representative is authorized to execute all documents, as may be required by Caltrans, and are necessary to complete and submit these grant applications to Caltrans.
