Agency-State Agreement to add bus stop renovation to project list.
Recommended motion:
That the plans for the renovation of the Central City
Bus Stops, in accordance with Plan No. 7048, be approved
and the Director of Public Works/City Engineer
authorized to advertise for bids upon approval from
Caltrans.

STAFF REPORT
Plans for the renovation of the Central City Bus Stops have been
reviewed by Caltrans along with the project specifications. The plans
and specifications have been approved but Caltrans has not yet authorized
the bidding of the project.
Council will consider the Program Supplement to the State Agreement
at the February 2, 1987 Council meeting and it appears that upon execution
of the Program Supplement, Caltrans will authorize the project for bidding.
In order to expedite the project and be prepared to take advantage
of the competitive bidding, we would recommend that Council authorize the
Director of Public Works/City Engineer to advertise the project for bids
upon receipt of approval from Caltrans.

TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $112,000
Federal participation is estimated to be $88,168.00. City funds are
in Account No. 242-363-57364. An amount of $22,593.68 was appropriated in
the 85-86 budget.
We recommend approval of the plans and specifications and authoriza-
tion be granted to advertise for bids subject to final authorization from
Caltrans and execution of Program Supplement No. 43.
