There is an existing crossing at this same location. the Mi ss i on Creek Box Cul vert is a improve traffic flow on Tippecanoe project in place to widen the railroad I n February of 1986, the Mayor and Counci 1 authori zed an agreement for professional services for the design of this project. The desi gn has now been compl eted and the pl ans revi ewed by both the City and the County for accuracy and completeness. The project consists of widening the existing box culvert on the Mi ssi on Creek Channel where it crosses Ti ppecanoe Avenue. Thi s improvement will be accomplished by extending the existing culvert on both ends and widening the existing roadway. The preliminary estimate is as follows: Construction Contract Design Engineering Engineering & Inspection Permits $ 181,500 11,500 6,600 200 Subtotal Contingencies (15%) $199,800 $ 30,200 Total $216,500 Funds in Account Number 242-362-57363 following: are made up of the 1985/86 1986/87 Budget Budget $ 28,287.00 275,725.00 $ 304,012.00 These funds are for both the widening of the culvert and the improvement of the railroad crossing. State 203 Funds are expected to cover 90% of the railroad crossing work ($100,398.00) and by supplement- al agreements with the County, the County will reimburse up to $30,000~00 for the railroad crossing and up to $55,000.00 for the widening of the box culvert. The County will pay 50% of all costs up to the above max imum limits and will exceed the limits if the costs are justified. At present the railroad crossing is extimated to be $139,020.
