HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-276 1 Resolution No. 2010-276 2 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF S BERNARDINO AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2007-345, SECTION 2, C INSURANCE; SECTION 2, I, PERS; SECTION 2, B(3), COMPENSATION; RESOLUTION NO. 2009-35, SECTION 2, B(8), COMPENSATION; BETWEEN T CITY AND MANAGEMENT/CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES. 3 4 5 6 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CI OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 7 SECTION 1: Resolution No. 2007-345, Section 2, C, Insurance (Medical, Dental 8 Vision), is hereby amended as follows: 9 C. Insurance (Medical. Dental. Vision) 10 Effective with health care plans beginning January 1, 2011, the City shaI 11 contribute a flat rate of $1,091.81 per month to be used to purchase City 12 sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. 13 SECTION 2: Resolution No. 2007-345, Section 2, I, PERS, is hereby amended by addin 14 as follows: 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 5. Effective September 1, 2010 newly hired employees will pay th full employee contribution amount of the members' contributio towards PERS retirement. 6. Effective January 1,2011 the City of San Bernardino will amen the current PERS contract to provide a two-tier retirement benefi of2% @ 55 for all newly hired employees in the group hired on 0 after January 1,2011. Any member of the bargaining group who is laid off an subsequently rehired will be reinstated to the retirement formul they previously had prior to layoff. -1- 2010-276 1 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF S BERNARDINO AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2007-345, SECTION 2, C INSURANCE; SECTION 2, I, PERS; SECTION 2, B(3), COMPENSATION; AN RESOLUTION NO. 2009-35, SECTION 2, B(8), COMPENSATION; BETWEEN T CITY AND MANAGEMENT/CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES. 2 3 4 5 SECTION 3: Resolution No. 2007-345, Section 2, B(3), Compensation, is amended b 6 adding as follows: 7 Effective August 16, 2010, all Management/Confidential employees wil 8 forego merit increases for the period August 16, 2010 through June 30 9 2012. 10 SECTION 4: Resolution No. 2009-35, Section 2, B(8), Compensation, IS hereb 11 amended as follows: 12 8. Reduced Work Week: 13 A) ALL MEMBERS: 14 Effective September 1, 2010, through June 30, 2012, all members 15 excluding those due to health or safety concerns as determined by the Ci 16 Manager, of the Management/Confidential Unit will continue t 17 participate in a 9/36 work week or other scheduled as determined by th 18 Department Head. The reduced work week will equate to approximately 19 ten percent (10%) pay reduction. 20 Members who are not able to work a reduced work week, due to health 0 21 safety concerns as determined by the City Manager, will need to meet th 22 ten percent (10%) reduction in another manner. 23 Employees not participating in the reduced work week due to heal 24 and/or safety reasons, as determined by the City Manager, will need 25 meet the ten percent (10%) reduction in another manner. Thes 6 hours will have neither an expiration date nor cash value. 7 B) ALL CITY ATIORNEY'S OFFICE STAFF: 8 Effective September 1, 2010, through June 30, 2012, all City Attorney' 9 Office staff agree to continue to take a ten percent (10%) reduction in pa 10 based on the currently approved monthly salary. Staff will not participat 11 in the reduced work week. 12 The salary reduction will be administered each payroll period an 13 reflected on the members' semi-monthly payroll checks. In return, thes 14 15 employees will be provided with four (4) hours of leave tirne per week t be used at their discretion, subject to the approval of the City Attorney, . 16 the same manner as vacation leave.
