I I 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 ORDINANCE NO. /.f~~ AN ORDINANCE Al1ENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1438, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE P~OPTING AND ESTABLISHING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS WITHIN l'HE CITY OF SAN BERNARDIlJO AND ADOPTING A BUILDING CODE FOR SAID CITY: PROVIDING, CREATING AND ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONES IN SAID CITY." THE MAYOR AND CO~10N COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNAR- DINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION ONE: That Ordinance No. 1438, entitled "AN ORDI- NANCE ADOPTING AND ESTABLISHING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS WITHIN THE CITY OF SAN BERNP~DINO AND ADOPTING A BUILDING CODE FOR SAID CITY: PROVIDING, CREATING AND ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONES IN SAID CITY," shall be amended to read as follows: Section 1: That the Building Code herein referred to is contained in book form in three copies, entitled "Uniform Building Code, 1949 Edition, prepared by the Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference," now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City and identified by the certificate attached thereto of the City Clerk of said City reading as follows: "I, John H. Osborn, City Clerk of the City of San Bernardino, do hereby certify that the annexed Building Code is the Building Code in book form referred to in Ordinance No. 1438 of the City of San Bernardino. OSBORN City Clerk of the City of San Bernardino,tl Section 2: That the provisions of Section 102 to 4712, both inclusive, together with Sections 2415, 2525 and 5101 to and including 5ll5B of said Building Code, except as herein otherwise provided, be and they 5.re adopted herein by reference , and th2.t sai. Sections afores&id, except as herein provided, shall constitute the Building Code of the City of SB.n Bernardino covering the subjects and matters therein referred to; and provided, further, th5.t said Code shall be amended by adding or modifying the following sections to-wi t: m,;?" 1 303(b): A plan checking fee shall be paid of one-half ,......: i:j I' i . , , I I , I I 2 of the building permit fee and additional thereto, on all COlmner- 3 cial or industrial bUildings over $10,000; 4 303(c): The City, County, State, or the United States 01 5 America shall beexempt from the paying of any fee for any building; 6 303(d): The Building Inspector shall determine the esti 7 mated valuation in all cases, and for such purpose he shall be gui 8 ded by approved estimating practices; 9 303(e): Any person taking out a per;nit for the general r ~ i I I 10 construction of any building or project shall do so at least 3 days 11 prior to the start of actual construction; 12 303 (f) : A sub-contractor shall obtain a perrJi t or Dotif 13 the Inspector prior to the start of his work;. 14 303(g): Where work for which a permit is required by this 16 or 1fhere the proceeding paragraphs are violated, an additional fee 15 Code is started or proceeded with, prior to obtaining said permit, ~ ~ ~ ~ 17 of 10% of the cost of the project shall be paid, not to exceed the 18 sum of ~200.00 and it shall be the duty of the Building and/or 19 Plumbing and Electrical Inspectors to levy and collect said additio 20 nal fees.
