ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE TITLE 2, CHAPTERS 2.14 and 2.15.

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION I. San Bernardino Municipal Code Chapter 2.14 is amended to now read in
7
its entirety as follows:

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS

2.14.020 Director.

The Department shall be under the management and control of the Director of

Public Works, who shall be appointed by the City Manager with approval of the Mayor
and Common Council. (Ord. MC-IOn, 9-8-98; Ord. MC-344, 2-20-84.)

2.14.030 Director - Duties.

Under the policies of the Mayor and Common Council, the Director shall have all
the powers and perform all the duties that are now or may hereafter be conferred upon the
Director of Public Works.

3 2.14.031 City Engineer.
4 The position of City Engineer is hereby created and shall report to and be under
5 the supervision of the Director of Public Works.
6 2.14.032 City Engineer-Duties.
7 The City Engineer shall perform the appropriate duties as a registered engineer as
8 provided for in Section 6730.2 of the Business and Professions Code or any other
9 applicable section of State law, the City Charter, or the Municipal Code. (Ord. MC-1226,

11 2.14.040 Meetings.
12 The Director shall represent the Department of Public Works at all meetings and
13 hearings of the Mayor and Common Council considering matters relating to engineering,
14 streets, rubbish, refuse disposal, improving of streets, or public works either in person or
15 by duly authorized representatives. (Ord. MC-1220, 3-20-06; Ord. MC-1027, 9-8-98;

18 SECTION 2. San Bernardino Municipal Code Chapter 2.15 is amended to now read in

3 2.15.020 Director—Duties.
4 The Department shall be under the management and control of the Director of
5 Community Development, who shall be appointed by the City Manager with approval of
6 the Mayor and Common Council. Under the policies of the Mayor and Common Council,
7 the Director shall have all the powers and perform all the duties that are now or may
8 hereafter be conferred or imposed by City Charter, law or the Mayor and Common
9 Council relating to planning, building and safety, code compliance, development and
10 shall plan, coordinate and report on all the duties and activities involved in such
