WHEREAS, Wallace Green was born on September 3, 1936 in Winnsboro, Louisiana
and attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana before joining the United States Air
Force in 1956; and
WHEREAS, Wallace Green married his beautiful wife Betty, whom he met in Holland
while serving in the military, in 1960, a union which has resulted in two beautiful children,
Anthony and Marcela, 6 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and;
WHEREAS, Wallace Green was medically retired from the Air Force in 1966 afier
serving his Country honorably for 10 years, and;
WHEREAS, Wallace Green has devoted the greatest portion of his life to the betterment
of his community through his employment with the San Bernardino County Housing Authority,
the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Bernardino, San Bernardino Economic
Development Council, Warner Hodgdon Group Affiliates and City of San Bernardino Mayor's
Office, and;
WHEREAS, Wallace Green has voluntarily devoted his personal time to the betterment
of his community though his tireless devotion to such activities as the City of San Bernardino
Police Commission, Outreach Police Assistance League, San Bernardino County Grand Jury,
and Arrowhead Elks Lodge No. 896, and Prince Hall Lodge No. 17, Free and Accepted Masons.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, PATRICK J. MORRIS, MAYOR OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, DO HEREBY COMMEND
WALLACE GREEN
for his dedication and outstanding contributions to the City of San Bernardino. We wish him well
in his retirement.
