RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AN BERNARDINO RATIFYING SUBMITTAL OF THE 2009/10 USED OIL AND
IL TER RECYCLING BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM
HE CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
F SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the State of California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act provides

unds to cities and counties for establishing and maintaining local used oil collection

rograms that encourage recycling of used motor oil and filters;
WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board has been
elegated the responsibility for the administration of the program with the State, setting
12 p necessary procedures governing applications of cities and counties under the
13 rogram;

WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino, as applicant, will enter into the
15

Used Oil Recycling Program that offers used oil and filter recycling opportunities for
17
greement with the State of California for the implementation and maintenance of a
18 residents and encourages the proper disposal of used motor oil and filters;

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
F SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino

alify the submittal of an application to the California Integrated Waste Management

Board for the 2009/10 Used Oil Recycling Block Grant, a copy of which is attached
hereto as Exhibit "A".
The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to
xecute in the name of the City of San Bernardino all necessary contracts, payment
requests, agreements, and amendments herelo for the purposes of securing grant
28 unds to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application.

Used Oil Block Grant Funds: Projected Expenditures in FY 2009/10
