V, APPROVAL OF MINUTES Approval of Minutes of October 17, 2002. VI. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION AND/OR ACTION A. Skateboard Park - Selection of Design Consultant B. Dog Park/Proposed Recreational Use Permit/City Ordinance - as requested by Chairman D'Amico. Cily Animal Control Director, Jon Cicirelli will be present to assist in questions according to provisions within the City's Animal Control ordinance. C. Jazz Festival- as requested by Commissioner Westwood D. California Park & Recreation Society Subscription - Along with the Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, seven other commissioners can receive a free subscription of the magazine with Director's paid membership. However, all subscriptions are mailed to the same address (Parks & Recreation Office) and only seven additional magazines can be mailed out. Lemuel P. Randolph ' Director l_..,,""" LPRldlp TJG PARK & REC COM Agenda , CIP Project List Update November 6, 2002 I. Perris Hill and Kerwin (Meadowbrook) Restrooms - These two new restrooms facilities are completed and will be opened to the public on November 8, 2002. 2. Blair Skateboard Park Project - Two design consultants have submitted their proposals for the City to review. A meeting with City staff is scheduled for November 7, 2002 to review their contents. Purkiss Rose of Orange County and Site Design Group of Tempe, Arizona were the firms that replied to our RFP. 3. Perris Hill Senior Center - Dining Room Expansion Project - The project is 99% design complete with a projected $400,000 construction budget which includes $350,000 for construction, $30,000 for contingency and $20,000 for contract administration/inspections. Based upon design completion, staff will be researching construction-funding opportunities. 4. Guadalupe field - We have a current bid of $13,000 for netting project. Still attempting to obtain two additional bids and we hope that this project can be completed by February 20003. 5. Wildwood Backstop - Project should be completed by February, 2003. 6. Staff is looking forward for the State of California to publish their Grant Guidelines for the Proposition 40 Bond Initiative that was passed earlier this year. You may recall that our department will be allocated $1.4 million from this program.
