Synopsis of Previous Council action:
02-06-85 -- Plans for elevators for New Central Library, per Plan No. 6462,
approved and Director of Public Works/City Engineer authorized
to advertise for bids.
04-09-84 -- Bids received on 3-27-84 in the amounts of $81,485.00 and
$89,442.00, were rejected and Director of Public Works/City
Engineer was authorized to re-advertise for bids.
07-09-84 -- RES. 84-247 adopted awarding a contract to Dover Elevator Company
for the low bid price of $70,800.00,
Recommended motion:

That the work performed by the Contractor, in accordance
with Specification No. 6462, be approved and accepted;
and that final payment be authorized at the expiration of
the lien period.

All work under this contract was satisfactorily completed as of
The contract was awarded to Dover Elevator Company for the low
bid price of $70,800.00, which is also the actual final contract price.
A copy of the letter from the Architect dated 11-06-85, certifying
that all work is 100% complete, is attached for reference.
We concur with the recommendation from the Architect that the work
be approved and accepted, and that final payment be authorized at the end of
the lien period.
URGENCY CLAUSE
Since all work under this contract has been completed, it is necessary that
the work be approved and accepted as soon as possible, in order that the final
payment can be made in a timely manner.
