Legislative Review Committee approved expansion of corridors of beautification Program. Staff asked for a one-year extension of Beautification Program. Commission continued to November 15, 1985, for more extensive report. Council approved one year extension of Beautification program. $25,000 within project areas and $25,000 for areas outside project areas (September 85-86). Council approved amendments to the Beautification Program. Projects must start within 90 days of approval, work must be completed within 90 days of start date. Council approved Mr. Paul Bradford's Beautification Project. Council approved Mr. Brian Simpson's, Mr. Richard Davidson's and Mr. M. C. Carey's beautification projects. On December 3, 1985, the Redevelopment Committee recommended approval of the following proposal: Chuck Obershaw Toyota 1139 North "E" Street Total project cost Total funds available for this project Maximum w/o RC approval $320,850 10,000 5,000 $5,000 Difference The Redevelopment Committee recommended approval of Mr. Obershaw's project for the following reasons: 1. Property is located within the proposed Uptown Redevelopment Project Area on a major street. 2. Building is expoaed to public view from three sides. 3. Other buildings in area are undergoing renovation.
