III CI'O OF SAN BERNARDrcP - REQUIIOT FOR COUNCIL ACQON o o o 75.0264 STAFF REPORT Change Order No. Six directs the contractor to relocate temporary power from the main court yard to the switch gear room in order to accommodate construction and, thus, prevent a delay in the progress of the work. This change order also directs the contractor to provide power to the elevator cabs and a conduit for telephone (as they were inadvertently omitted from the plans); and to relocate three thermostats incorrectly shown on the plans. A copy of the memorandum from Bill Doran, Construction Manger, dated September 17, 1985, is attached. In this memorandum, Mr. Doran describes each item of work, and recommends that Change Order No. Six be approved. We concur with the recommendation by Mr. Doran that this Change Order be approved. The Budget vs. Bid Analysis dated 12-6-84 showed an amount of $6,138 for change orders in process and $5,000 for estimated future change order costs. The net additional cost for Change Orders No.2, 3, 5 and 6 is $6,298.85 since Change Order No.4 was for no cost. Therefore, approval of Change Order No. Six will nto invalidate the financial report dated l2-6-84. SYNOPSIS OF PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION (Cont.) 5-13-85 --- Change Order No. Five approved to authorize the Contractor to add a 2" conduit for irrigation sprinkler control wire, at an increase in the contract price of $367.8l, from $501,067.29 to $501,435.10. o o () o ~ o o J.D.
