Synopsis of Previous Council action:
10-20-86 Authorization of an agreement for design of under crossing
widening.
08-03-87 Resolution No. 87-270 adopted executing an agreement for
professional services for the widening of 1-215 under-
crossing in the State College Park Area.
08-03-87 --- CDC Resolution No. 5036 adopted awarding contract to
Riverside Construction for the low bid price of $199,824.50.
Recommended motion:
1. That Change Order No. ONE to the contract with Riverside Construction
for the widening of 1-215 utility crossing, per Plan No. 7225, be
approved, authorizing the Contractor to install approximately 50 feet
of 4" PVC drain line, at an increase in the contract price of $500,00,
from $199,824.50 to $200,324.50.
....AND
2. That the work performed by the Contractor be approved and accepted;
and that final payment be authorized at the expiration 0 the lien
period.

STAFF REPORT
During construction, a 4-inch drainage line from the existing
sump pump at the utility crossing was found within Caltrans right-of-
way, instead of within the golf course property. This line discharges
run-off water from the golf course. The Contractor agreed to relo-
cate this line back to the location as shown on the encroachment
permit issued for the original utility undercrossing construction,
for the estimated price of $500.00. We recommend that Change Order
No. One be approved.
All work under this project was satisfactorily completed as
of 12-01-87. The project was awarded for the low bid price of
$199,824.50. The final contract price is $200,324.50, due to the
increase authorized by Change Order No. One.
We recommend that the work be approved and accepted and that
the final payment be authorized at the expiration of the lien period.
