STAFF REPORT
At the November 6, 1987, meeting of the Board of Building Commissioners (BBC),
the scheduled demolishment of the building at 1548 North t1t. Vernon was asked to
be reheard. The BBC chose to not hehear the matter and the property owner
filed an appeal to the Mayor and Common Council on November 10, 1987 with
the City Clerk's Office. The letter of appeal and the staff repor4number
2916, on this property are attached.

This is a request for an appeal before the 80ard of Building Commissioners to
reverse their Resolution action of April 3, 1987 for demolition.
This matter was first heard before the Board of Building Commissioners at the
August 1, 1986 meeting. The Board granted 180 days for the owner to resolve
the problems with the property provided the tanks were removed immediately.
This case was again heard bv the Board at the Aoril 3. 19R7 meeting and the Board
granted an additional 30 days for the owner to correct the problems and if not,
the building was to go to bid for demolition. To date the tanks have been removed
and the building is still in place.

The owner of the building situated at 1548 N. Mt Vernon
is hereby notified to appear before the Board of Commissioners of the City
of San Bernardino at its meeting to be held on November 6, 1987
at the Council Chambers, City Hall, 300 North "0" Street, San Bernardino,
California, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. or as soon thereafter as he may be
heard and show cause, if any he has, why said building should not be condemned
as a public nuisance and said nuisance be abated by the City of San Bernardino
by repairing, rehabilitation or demolishing and removing same and charging
the costs thereof to the owner as provided in the San Bernardino Municipal
Code, Title 15.
The sum of costs incurred to date and the alleged defects of the building are
set forth in "Exhibit A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
