09-08-86 Resolution No. 86-360 adopted authorizing execution of a
lease with RDA for space in City Hall.
09-22-86 Resolution No. 86-383 adopted authorizing execution of a
first amendment to Lease Agreement with the Water Dept. for
lease of space in City Hall.
02-02-87 Authorization for expenditure of funds for maintenance and
renovation of various public buildings confirmed.
03-09-87 Resolution No. 87-59 adopted authorizing execution of an
Agreement with Interdesign for professional services.
06-15-87 Plans approved and authorization granted to advertise for

Recommendsd motion:
That Change Order No. One to the contract with
Wyatt Construction, for the removal and fill-in of
a stairway in City Hall, in accordance with Plan
No. 7266, be approved; to authorize the Contractor
to increase the fireproofing from 1 hour to 2 hour
rating, at an increase in contract price of $1,500.00,
from $33,089.86 to $34,589.86.

STAFF REPORT
The architect that prepared the project specifications
specified one-hour fireproof rating for the underside of the
third floor fill-in. This provision was based upon his under-
standing that City Hall was a Type I building. However, City
Hall is a Type 2 building, which requires a 2-hour fireproof
rating.
The contractor has submitted a price quote to perform
the additional fire-proofing, for the lump sum price of $1,500.00,
which will increase the contract price from $33,089.86 to
$34,589.86.
. The total estimated project cost contained an amount for
contingencies of $5,856.14, which can be used to finance the
cost of this extra work.
We recommend that Change Order No. One be approved.

Resolution No. 87-311 adopted awarding the contract
to the low bidder for a price of $33,089.86.
URGENCY CLAUSE
All work has been completed on this contract and it is necessary
to have this extra work approved in order to avoid delaying the
re-modeling of City Hall.
