INTEROFFICE MEHORANDUM
8710-2112
TO: Mayor Evlyn Wilcox
Raymond D. Schweitzer, City Administrator
FROM: R. Ann Siracusa, Director of Planning
SUBJECT: Request for Joint Workshop of Mayor and Council and
Planning Commission - Mapping Session
DATE:
October 16, 1987
(7229)
COPIES:
Roy Nierman, Planning Commission Chairman
James Penman, City Attorney
Shauna Clark, City Clerk
Phil Arviso, Executive Assistant to Council
In order to facilitate timely review of the three land use
alternatives when they are ready for review by the Planning
Commission and Mayor and Common' Council in March, 1988, the
project manager from Envicom, Woody Tescher, has suggested
that the Planning Commission and Mayor and Common Council
have a joint workshop in the next month to "map" areas of
concern and opportunities in the City. , ,
This would be the same exercise that the Citizen Advisory
Committee (CAC) participated in on October 12, 1987 (except
that we would wall-mount the maps so the Council and
Commission don't have to crawl around on the floor). The CAC
found it to be a very informative session for them and
critical to the consultants. I believe it would be a very
worthwhile use of the Mayor and Council's time and suggest
that this workshop be scheduled for a Monday evening on a
regular Council meeting day before the end of November.
Th you.
