STAFF REPORT
The idea of speicher Park was conceived by friends and
business associates of Rick Speicher as a memorial to the
Speicher family who died in an automobile accident in 1986.
A portion of Patton Park, approximately two acres, was
designated for this purpose.
During the early part of 1987, a task force was established
for the purpose of identifying and resolving community
concerns surrounding the development of a park near San
Gorgonio High School. The task force worked cooperatively to
find solutions to meet the fOllowing objectives:
1. High/Low-Level Visibility
2. Security Lights & Park Signs
3. Student Orientation
4. Police Street and Foot Patrol
5. Restrooms
6. Task Force Periodic Review
