Synopsis of Previous Council action:
09-08-86 Resolution No. 86-360 adopted authorizing execution of a lease with
RDA for lease of office space in City Hall.
Resolution No, 86-383 adopted authorizing execution of a first amend-
ment to Lease Agreement with the Water Dept. for lease of office space
in City Hall.
Authorization for expenditure of funds for maintenance and renovation
of various public buildings confirmed.
Resolution No. 87-59 adopted authorizing execution of an Agreement for
Professional Services with Interdesign.

Recommended motion:
That the plans for removal of the stairway, and
filling in the opening on the Third Floor of City
Hall, in accordance with Plan No. 7266, be approved;
and the Director of Public Works/City Engineer
authorized to advertise for bids.

STAFF REPORT
Plans for the removal of the stairway, and filling in the op~ning on
the third floor of City Hall, have been prepared by a structural englneer
under the agreement with Interdesign for professional services. The project
is ready to be advertised for bids.
Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost, based upon the
structural engineer's estimate:

Funds have been allocated in the Public Facilities Renovation Fund
for each floor in City Hall. It is proposed that the cost of this project
be divided equally between the second and third floors, since each floor
will gain approximately the same amount of additional space.
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization granted to
advertise for bids.
