CIT9 OF SAN .ERNARDIW - REQUEO FOR COUNCIL ACON
STAFF REPORT
Junior University, Inc., has applied for use of FDR Bowl at Perris Hill Park
from May 2 through August 25, 1987, for its annual perfonnance. According to
City Council resolution, rental fee for this use would be .$520.0D plus costs for
electricity.
Junior University has been conducting youth theatre at the Roosevelt Bowl for
nearly two decades. Attendance exceeds 20,000 each summer. Junior University, Inc.,
has acquired a $1 million liability policy that names the City as additionally in-
sured at a significantly higher rate than previous years. They have requested that the
cost of the liability be accepted in lieu of the rental costs. Itis recommended
that the City continue to support Junior University by accepting the liability
policy in lieu of the rental fees.

THIS YEAR. JULY 13 THROUGH JULY 26. 1987.
SINCE JUN lOR UN IVERS!TY IS. AND PROBABLY WILL CONT I NUE TO BE, fHE

I S VERY C;OSTL Y AND T HE ADD IT I ON OF RENTAL COSTS WOULD MAKE
FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT.
