I,#- Barbara Pachon, Director of Finance iJult/ Legal Bills Related to Proposed Charter Changes TO: SUBJECT: DATE: CC: November 15,2000 Mayor Judith Valles Fred Wilson, City Administrator We have reviewed your request to process payment in the amount of $36,984.70 to the law firm of Gresham, Savage, Nolan & Tilden for legal work related to the proposed City Charter changes. Finance will prepare a handwritten check to Gresham, Savage, Nolan & Tilden in the amount of $17,210 and notify your staff when the check is ready. However, it appears that Council approval is required before Finance can process a check for the remaining $19,774.70 of the $36,984.70 invoiced by Gresham, Savage Nolan & Tilden. On 6/19/00 the Council authorized payment to the firm of Richards, Watson, & Gershon and the firm of Gresham, Savage, Nolan & Tilden in an amount "not to exceed $25,000 for both firms without Council approval" for legal work related to the proposed City Charter changes. To date, $7,790.00 has been paid to Richards, Watson & Gershon for Charter related legal work, leaving $17,210 of the original $25,000 approved by Council left to pay for remaining Charter related legal invoices. We anticipate having a check in the amount of $17,210 completed by the end of the day. Please let me know if you have any questions. 51 u/wfOO
