Staff Report
On December 2,2000, the YMCA is holding their 23'd Annual YMCA Children's Christmas
parade along "E" Street, They expect over 3000 children participating in the event and over
10,000 spectators.
The Association has non-profit status and, as such, is requesting a waiver of City fees in
connection with the event. These fees include:

Attached is the organization's budget for"the event including estimated expenses and anticipated

The YMCA of San Bernardino is currently planning for the 23rd Annual YMCA
Children's Christmas Parade, The parade will be on Saturday December 2, and will start
at 11 :00 A.M. at the comer of 6th and E Street. This year costs for police services, and
barricades, to be provided by the City of San Bernardino, have been estimated to be
$2000 dollars
We are again planning to have over 3000 children participating in the parade, and over
10,000 people attending the parade. This event is filmed live and re-broadcasts at least 3
different times, The YMCA of San Bernardino is asking that the City to waive the fees so
that we may be able to continue letting all kids participate in the parade for free.
Please advise me as soon as possible, if the City of San Bernardino can waive these
fees,

and Council voted to approve your request for a waiver of fees in the amount of $4,212 for
facility, personnel and equipment costs associated with the 23'" Annual YMCA Children's
Christmas Parade to be held on December 2, 2000.
