POSITION JUSTIFICATIONS
The following are justifications for classified appointments, promotions and other
personnel actions to be reviewed by the Mayor and Common Council at the September
5, 2000 Council meeting.
CLASSIFIED
GENERAL FUND
1. Animal Shelter Attendant (McCov. Melinda) - Appointment
ANIMAL CONTROL
Melinda McCoy will be filling a vacant Animal Shelter Attendant position. This is a
budgeted position; there will be no financial impact. This position needs to be filled as
soon as possible to prevent decreased service to the public and to cut down on the
overtime due to this vacancy.
2. Electrician II (Patsch, Timothy) - Appointment
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT
The Facilities Management Department has one (1) Electrician position to maintain the
electrical systems in over 140 facilities. The position has been vacant since April when
the former employee separating from the City. This position is critical to the operations
of the department and is currently backlogged with over 100 work orders to complete.
8. Seraeant (Kutch. Vincent) - Promotion
POLICE
This position is a grant-funded position (Night Light Grant). This grant has not yet been
authorized by the Mayor and Common Council.
9. Eauioment Mechanic II (Powell. Russell) - Promotion
PUBLIC SERVICES/FLEET
This position is necessary to fully staff the Fleet operation and be able to improve the
Fleet Division's ability to perform preventive maintenance inspections on Refuse Trucks
and other heavy-duty vehicles. This position is new; it was added in the FYOO-01
budget.
