2 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO ENDORSING SENATE BILL S-168l TO PROVIDE FOR UNIFORM,
3 FAIR, AND EQUITABLE TREATMENT OF PERSONS AND BUSINESSES DISPIACED

WHEREAS, the redevelopment project known as Central City
Project #1, Calif. R-79 in the central portion of the City of San
Bernardino will require the relocation of many small business
firms; and

WHEREAS, a copy of Senate Bill S-1681, 89th Congress Second
Session, "The Uniform Relocation Act" as passed by The United
States Senate on July 22, 1966 and which is being reviewed by
the House of Representatives and has been presented to the Mayor
and Common Council for their consideration; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. S-168l will eliminate inequities
to businesses and individuals displaced without fair or adequate

compensation; and

WHEREAS, said Bill will provide for fair, uniform and
equitable relocation compensation for such businesses and indivi-
duals; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has studied said Senate Bill
S-168l and has determined that it is in the best interest of the
City of San Bernardino to endorse the early passage of said Bill;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, that said City by and

through its governing representatives does hereby endorse the
early adoption of Senate Bill S-168l, a bill to provide for
uniform, fair, and equitable treatment of persons and businesses
displaced by federal and federally assisted programs; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be directed to

transmit copies of this resolution to the President of the United
States of America, Speaker of the House of Representatives,

president of the Senate, the Chairman and each member of the
House Committee on Public Works, each United States Senator from
the State of California, the Congressman from the 33rd Congres-
sional District of California, and each of the other members of
the California Congressional Delegation, the Governor of the
State of California, the State Senator from San Bernardino County,
7 I and the State Assemblymen from the 72nd and 73rd Districts.
