CITY OF SAN BERN,<,DINO - REQUEST F~ COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT RECOMMENDATION Adopt the Resolution approving alternate members for public representatives of the Solid Waste Advisory Task Force (SWATF), BACKGROUND The SW A TF is comprised of elected officials from each jurisdiction in San Bernardino County, representatives of the solid waste industry, environmental organizations, the general public, and special districts. Delegates from local governments have appointed alternates. On occasion, the quarterly SWATF meeting lacks a quorum due to inability of various public representative delegates to attend. DISCUSSION AND SUMMARY The SW A TF has discussed the need to provide alternates for public representatives and has provided the proposed resolution as a solution to its problem. A RBSOL1J'1'IOII OF THB KAYOR AIJI) COMMOII COOllCIL OF THE CITY OF SAIl 1 BERlJARDIIIO, CALIFOlUfIA, APPROVIIIG ALTERlJATE MEMBERS FOR THB PUBLIC 2 REPRBSEIITATIVBS OF THB SOLI)) WASTE ADVISORY TASK FORCE 3 WJlERDS, County Resolution No. 90-134 established the 4 membership of the Solid Waste Advisory Task Force, as required by 5 6 7 Public Resources Code Section 40950 (AB 939, stats 1989); and WJlERDS, such membership includes ten (10) representatives from the solid waste industry environmental organizations, the general 8 public, special districts, and affected governmental agencies 9 appointed by the city and county representatives of the Task Force 10 to status as members of the Task Force. 11 IIOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: 12 13 members of the Solid Waste Advisory Task Force to have alternates. SECTIOII 1. Approval is hereby given for the ten (10) public 14 SECTIOII 2. Designated alternates shall be appointed as 15 alternate members of the Task Force by action of the city and county 16 17 18 19 20 representatives of the Task Force. SBCTIOIl' 3.
