NUMBER
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO REQUESTING THE
STATE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES TO LEASE SPACE TO HIGHLAND
DISTRICT COUNCIL ON AGING, INC., UNDER EXISTING TERMS AND
CONDITIONS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
Recitals.
The Highland District Council on Aging, Inc., (Highland)
currently leases space located within the boundaries of Patton
State Hospital (Patton) from the State of California for purposes
of providing a comprehensive range of services to senior citizens
of the City and County of San Bernardino, as evidenced by
Highland'S excellent performance in the senior nutrition program.
Highland has expended $160,000 of its own funds to renovate the
space it occupies at no cost to the State. Highland currently
pays approximately $157.00 per month for the cost of various
utilities and coordinates with officials from Patton State
Hospital for the use of the space Highland occupies by Patton.
Implementation.
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino
hereby request from the Director of General Services of the State

of California that the lease agreement currently being negotiated
between Highland and the State contain the same terms and

conditions which currently exist. The Mayor and Common Council

further request that the State allow the use of the space by

Patton to serve in-lieu of cash payments by Highland to the
State, and that, further, the State consider the improvements
made by Highland to State-owned property at no expense to the
State as additional credit against the proposed fair market
