Synopsis of Previous Council ection:
June, 1987 Allocation of $50,000, from 1984 Bond Act Funds, approved
in 1986/87 Budget under Account No. 243-363-57519.
11-23-87 Finding made that replacement of improvements in Hillcrest
Park is needed for health and safety reasons.
June, 1988 -- Allocation of supplemental funds in the amount of $45,000
approved in 1988/89 Budget.
09-06-88 Plans approved and authorization granted to advertise for
bids.
11-07-88 Transfer of $36,270, from Account No. 243-363-57528,"Patton
Park Development (86 Bonds)" approved.
11-21-88 Resolution No. 88-437 adopted, awarding a contract for the
low bid price of $115,569.28.
Recommended motion:
That the work performed by the Contractor for the construction of
improvements in Hillcrest Park (Newberry Memorial), in accordance with
Plan No. 7388, be approved and accepted: and that final payment be
authorized at the expiration of the lien period.

STAFF REPORT
All work was satisfactorily completed as of 2-27-89.
The maintenance period was completed on 6-19-89.
The project was awarded for the low bid price of
$115,569.28. Change Orders No.' s One and Two increased the
contract price to $118,978.78. The actual final contract price
is $119,258.08, due to a slightly larger amount of concrete
sidewalk being constructed than the estimated quantity.
Contract Change Order No. One was issued to authorize
the Contractor to install 1950 sq. feet of additional sidewalk,
in connection with the designation of this site as the Newberry
Memorial Park. 'Approximately $4,000 has been donated toward the
improvement of Newberry Memorial Park. Therefore, the cost for
Change Order No. One is $5,056.80. This amount is to be
financed from the donated funds, in Account No. 772-381-21803,
to the extent funds are available.
We recommend that the work be approved and accepted, and
that final payment be authorized at the expiration of the lien
period.
