STAFF REPORT
Plans and specifications have been prepared for the in-
stallation of approximately 300 feet of 8-inch sewer line east
of "D" Street and north of 20th Street. The existing private
sewer is subject to back-up and overflow.
Findings for health and safety have been made for this
project and the City has secured an easement for the sewer line
across private property. Construction in an easement was pro-
posed for two major reasons. First, the existing homes are
served from the rear to the private sewer and connection at this
location would be easy to make. Second, there is a substantial
cost savings (estimated at over $14,000) by constructing in an
easement.
Listed below is an estimate for the total project cost:
Construction Cost
Engineering & Inspection (W.O. 1827)
Sub-Total
Contingencies (I4%)
Total
$ 17,660.00
2,850.00
$ 20,510.00
790.00
$ 21,300.00
Funds have been allocated from the CDBG contingency fund
in an amount of $21,300.00 for this work.
We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization
granted to advertise for bids.
