Synopsis of Previous Council action:
At the August 19, 1985 Council meeting, a request was made to
require the application for a request for an Absentee Voter Ballot
be limited to the form developed and issued by the San Bernardino
City Clerk. No application other than the application issued by
the City Clerk's Office shall be valid.
Recommemled motion:
Waive further first reading of ordinance, and layover for final
adoption.

2 ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING SECTION
2.56.001 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADD PARAGRAPH 2
3 TO SUBSECTIOr A TO PROVIDE THAT NO APPLICATION POR AN ABSENTEE
VOTER BALLOT SHALL BE VALID UNLESS MADE ON THE PORM ISSUED BY THE
4 SAN BERNARDINO CITY CLERK, AND PROVIDING EXCEPTIONS POR
CONSOLIDATED ELECTIONS AND NONAMBULATORY PERSONS.

THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OP THE CITY OP SAN BERNARDINO
6 DO ORDAIN AS POLLOWS:
7 SECTION 1. Section 2.56.001 Subsection A of the San
8 Bernardino Municipal Code is amended by adding paragraph 2 to
9 read as follows:
10 -2. Notwithstanding the provisions of California Elections
11 Code Sections 1000 et seq., or any judicial interpretation
12 thereof, an application for absentee ballot shall not be valid
13 unless made on a form issued to the applicant by the San
14 Bernardino City Clerk's Office. The provisions of this
15 subsection shall not apply to requests for absentee ballots for a
16 consolidated election conducted under California Elections Code
17 Section 23300 or for requests for absentee ballots received from
18 a person who is a -nonambulatory person- as that term is defined
19 in California Health and Safety Code Section 13131.-
