Agenda Item No. ~, 'CI~ OF SAN BERNARDQO - REQUQT FOR COUNCIL AC~ON STAFF REPORT A petition, protesting the proposed annexation, was submitted by registered voters within the area. This petition has been verified by the City Clerk to constitute a majority protest of registered voters. Voters are the basis for protest, since the proposed annexation is considered inhabited. Termination of annexation proceedings is required by State Law, whenever a majority protest is received. The attached resolution terminates these proceedings. We recommend the hearing be closed and the resolution adopted. The owner that originally requested annexation would still like to be incorporated into the City. Application could be made to the LAFC for annexation of the approximately 123 acres south of the Flood Control Channel. This annexation would be uninhabited, and include the 73 acres originally requested and about 50 acres of other vacant properties. A resolution making application to the LAFC, for the area south of the Flood Control Channel, is a1 so attached for your consideration. 2 75.0264
