HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-232 A"\ -4" t",~. \,.,-" I 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 II 12 13 14 IS 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 .. ,~ RESOLUTIO~ ~O. 85-232 RESOLUTIO~ OF THE MAYOR AND COMMO~ COU~CIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDI~O APPROVI~G THE PROPOSED GRADE SEPARATIO~S OF THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATIO~ (CALTRA~S) CONCERNING THE FREEWAY INTERCHANGE OF 215 AND 30 BY REMOVING "I" STREET AND CHANGING FLORES STREET TO THE 27th STREET GRADE SEPARATION. WHEREAS, the proposed grade spearations for the Freeway Routes 30 and 215 interchange project, which will extend the "crosstown" freeway westbound to Highland Avenue from "H" Street, includes the extension of 23rd Street to California Street, the connections of Porter, 27th, 28th, and Gardena Streets, and the connection of Gardena Street and Cajon Boulevard; and WHEREAS, the "I" Street grade separation has been deleted by the Federal Highway Administration; and WHEREAS, it is desirous that the proposed grade separation at Flores Street be deleted in favor of a grade separation at 27th Street; and WHEREAS, the landscaping for the freeway project should be equal to or superior to the Freeway Route 30 landscaping east of Freeway Route 215, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The proposed grade separation changes of the California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) which would delete the "I" Street grade separation and change the proposed grade separation of Flores Street to a grade separation at 27th Street connecting to Muscott Street, are approved. SECTION 2. The landscaping for the proposed freeway project, which will extend Freeway Route 30 to Freeway Route 215 and Highland Avenue between Muscott and California Streets, shall . ~ I 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 II 12 13 14 IS 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 II :1 ,~ be landscaped at standards equal to or excelling that performed on Freeway Route 30 east of Freeway Route 1-2l5. Such proposed landscaping project shall be reviewed and recommendations relating thereto made by a freeway esthetic committee composed of three appointees from the Sixth Ward, three appointees from the Fourth Ward of the City of San Bernardino, and staff members of CalTrans and the City of San Bernardino.
