The owners of adjoining parcels petitioned the City to establish an assessment district to reconstruct the street to City standards now that it is a dedicated street. An advertising sign was installed in the middle of Orange Show Lane when it was improved as a private street, just East of the right-of- way line for "E" Street. This arrangement is not permitted in City streets. We, therefore, notified the owner of the sign that it would have to be removed under the assessment district. The owner would like to relocate the sign on his parcel, and retain it in service. However, relocation is not allowed since the sign is not in conformance with current City requirements. Due to the extenuating circumstances that relocation of this si9n is required by a City established assessment district, and to avoid delaying the project, we recommend that authorization be granted for this sign to be relocated to an adjoining parcel. 2 75.0264
