STAFF REPORT
947 W. 6th Street
Report/Project No. 1319
Robert L. Zweig/Peartree Prop., Inc
This property has been vacant since early 1978 when a Notice of Pendency was
filed. Since then it has changed owners, had permits for rehabilitation with
no work being done. It went to the Board of Building Commissioners on
October 1982 and was boarded up. It continued to be vandalized and correction
notices were sent out in July 1984.
A letter was received August 8, 1984 from owner giving permission to demolish
building.
In conversation, our inspector said the bids were usually $1,200 to $1,600
for demolishing of residences, however, at the time it was not known there was
a basement and extra costs would be added in the bids for removing of debris
and compacting the fill.
The bid was awarded to J.B. J. Company on October 26, 1984 for $2,111 to remove
house with garage and partial basement.
