Since that time, State environmental regulations have been fnalized to include this requirements for all water services greater than 3/4 inches in diameter. Due to these requirements, the Water Department cannot issue a final approval of this project until the backflow prevention device is installed. The contractor has submi~ted a cost of $972.60 for furnishing and installing the required valve. This is a reasonable price which is almost evenly divided between labor and material. URGENCY CLAUSE Since the contractor is presentl~ on the project site and nearing completion of the contract. it is imperative that change Order No. Two be acted on to facilitate a timely completion of the project. 75.0264 2
