STAFF REPORT
On March 7, 1988, the Mayor and Council adopted Resolution No. 88-63
with the California Highway Patrol and the City Of San Bernardino,
Po lice Department. Thi s reso I ut i on was forwarded to the Hi ghway
Patrol, Accounting Office on March 11, 1988. It was returned to this
department stating that the resolution was not acceptable. The resolution,
as written, stated that there would be no debt or financial obligation
on the party of the City of San Bernardino. There is, however, a tuition
fee to be paid in advance for each officer attending motorcycle training.
This tuition is fully reimbursable through P.O.S.T. No officer will be
attending any training classes unless sufficient funds are available in
the training fund.
It is the recommendation of this department that the attached ammended
resolution be adopted to allow our police personnel to attend training
programs from time to time and will provide the required documentation
for the California Highway Patrol accounting office.
