HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985-074 T---"- ] RESOLUTION NO. 85-74 2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERING OF ONE (1) 1500 GALLON PER 3 MINUTE FIRE PUMPER IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATION NO. F-84-40, SUBJECT TO CONTRACTOR'S ACCEPTANCE OF ELIMINATIONS AND 4 SUBSTITUTIONS TO KEEP COSTS WITHIN BUDGETARY CONSTRAINTS. 5 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 6 7 SECTION 1. O'Neil Seagrave Company is the lowest and best bidder for the furnishing and delivering of one 1500 gallon per 8 9 minute Fire Pumper at a total cost of $155,000.00, in accordance 10 with Specification No. F-84-40; that all other bids therefor are hereby rejected. SECTION 2. The low bid is substantially in excess of the amount budgeted therefor, and City's Fire Cheif has negotiated 11 12 13 14 substitutions and eliminations of specified items to bring the total costs within budgetary constraints. 15 16 SECTION 3. A contract is hereby awarded to O'Neil Seagrave 17 Company, provided that said company agrees to a change order eliminating items and making substitutions to reduce the cost by 18 19 $14,516.00, plus tax, in accordance with the staff report of Fire 20 Cheif Gerald M. Newcombe, for a total contract sum of 21 $148,913.04. A copy of the staff report is attached hereto as 22 Exhibit "I" and is incorporated herein by reference. 23 SECTION 4.
